Information über die Vorgangsweise und notwendigen Dokumente, wenn eine Hebamme, die ihre Ausbildung in einem Land des EWR absolviert hat, in Österreich ihren Beruf ausüben will.

Auszug aus der Richtlinie 200536 EU

Vor dem Stichtag begonnene Ausbildungen benötigen im Normalfall einen Nachweis der Berufspraxis („Erworbene Rechte“) und / oder einen Nachweis der zuständigen staatlichen Behörde, dass die Ausbildung der Richtlinie 2005/36 EU entspricht.

Hebammengesetz §12

Änderung der Hebammen-EWR-Qualifikationsnachweis-Verordnung 2008 (Heb-EWRV-Novelle 2009)

Können diese Nachweise nicht erbracht werden, gibt es für Hebammen, die ihre Ausbildung in einem EWR-Staat absolviert haben, die Möglichkeit eines Anpassungslehrgangs und / oder einer Eignungsprüfung. Davor muss durch eine Gutachterin / einen Gutachter festgestellt werden in welchem Umfang sich die absolvierte Ausbildung von jener in Österreich unterscheidet.

Ausbildung außerhalb des EWR

Für Hebammen, die ihre Ausbildung in einem Staat außerhalb des EWR absolviert haben ist eine Berufszulassung nur im Zuge einer Überprüfung und Nostrifikation der Ausbildung an einer zuständigen Fachhochschule möglich.

Information about the process and necessary documents if a person who qualified as a midwife in an EEA country wants to practice midwifery in Austria.

If the course of training began before the reference date, a certificate of professional practice (“acquired rights”) and/or sufficient proof of the responsible national authority that the midwifery program completed satisfies all the minimum training requirements as outlaid in the EU Directive 2005/36 is usually necessary.

Änderung der Hebammen-EWR-Qualifikationsnachweis-Verordnung 2008 (Heb-EWRV-Novelle 2009) (Amendment of the Federal Act on the Recognition of Midwifery Qualification in EEA countries 2008 (Heb-EWRV-Novella 2009))

If the required proof cannot be produced, midwives who gained their qualification in an EEA country have the opportunity to take an adaptation course and/or an aptitude test. Before doing the course/test, an expert has to identify to which extent the educational program taken differs from the midwifery education in Austria.

Education in a non-EEA country

For midwives who gained their qualification in a non-EEA country, licensing as a midwife in Austria is only possible by means of an evaluation and recognition of qualification at one of the responsible Universities of Applied Sciences.
